Manchester United goalie linked with shock loan to Celtic

CELTIC are being linked with a shock move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson. The English goalkeeper is currently second choice at Old Trafford and 90Min are reporting that in order to keep himself in Gareth Southgate’s thoughts, the 23-year-old is pushing for a move to secure a spot in England’s Euro 2020 squad.

The move would probably secure a number one choice until the end of the season with Barkas and Bain currently contesting for the first choice jersey. It is fair to say that the United goalie would certainly benefit from game time should he wish to push for the England goalkeeping shirt, with Pickford and Pope in contention.

Barkas signed on a four year deal, believed to be worth £1m per year after Celtic paid around £4.5m for the player from AEK Athens. Barkas was in goals when Celtic were dumped out of the Champions League in 2018 by the Greek side and joined to become the new number one, taking on from Fraser Forster – who decided against making a permanent return.

However, some quiet performances for Celtic and then a shoulder injury allowed Scott Bain to stake a claim for the gloves. Unfortunately for Barkas, Bain has been impressive enough and doing just enough to keep him out of the team.
