Massive Blow for Celtic as Postecoglou confirms Kyogo out for 3 to 4 weeks

The headline news from the Celtic pre-match media conference today with Ange Postecoglou today is that Japanese striker Kyogo’s knee injury will keep him out for around 3 to 4 weeks. Celtic have an extremely busy schedule of games in that period playing Ross County tomorrow, before a trip to Seville to play Real Betis in the Europa League Group opener on Thursday night.

That’s followed by a trip to Livingston on 19 September before Celtic take on Raith Rovers in the League Cup on Thursday 23 September. Next it’s Dundee United at Celtic Park on Sunday 26 September before we face Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday 30 September, also at Paradise.

Realistically the earliest we can expect Kyogo back is for the trip to Pittodrie on Sunday 3 October but perhaps more realistically it will be the trip to Fir Park to play Motherwell on Saturday 16 October before we’ll see Kyogo playing for Celtic.

A huge blow but one we’ll have to cope with. More to follow from Ange, in the meantime some quotes from him in these graphics issued by the club.
