Matt O’Riley and Luis Palma, both vital to the Celtic cause

Matt and Luis are proving themselves to be vital to our cause this season…

Two players who were instrumental in our win over Hibs last night besides Big Oh were Matt O’Riley and Luis Palma. Not just because of their goals, but their all round play, that contributed to our empathic win. Thus far this season they have contributed 14 goals and 13 assists between them in all competitions.

Matt is of course top scorer with eight goals as well as providing seven assists, and Luis has hit six goals while also weighing in with six assists. That’s an amazing contribution from both players and shows how vital they are in the way we play and are a big part of us sitting top of the table.

Matt O’Riley has been a revelation under Brendan Rodgers now that he has added goals to his game, he is turning into the complete midfielder and is surely an early contender for player of the year.

In the case of Luis Palma, he looks like he’s now fully settled into the club and has the makings of a terrific player. We’ve been missing someone of his calibre for quite a while now.

He can score, he can provide and is excellent at dead ball situations. He proving to be very much a bargain buy. Both Matt and Luis will be vital in our bid to retain the league title.

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
