Matt O’Riley’s off-field role that shows class

Celtic star Matt O’Riley has been excellent this season. The 23-year-old is equally as classy off the field as it was revealed that he has been volunteering at the Glasgow Children’s Hospital.

The Danish Internationalist signed from MK Dons in January 2022 and since then has pushed on and progressed as a player. However, he has shown himself not only to be an excellent footballer but a great person – volunteering as a gaming volunteer, spending time with young people in hospital.

Despite the meteoric rise as a player, O’Riley has clearly remained grounded and knows what is important to him.

The club visit the GCH, usually at Christmas, and you wonder whether O’Riley’s attendance at these events spurred his interest in getting involved in volunteering on his own.

Hopefully Matt helps Celtic to a victory over Hearts on Saturday as he looks to finish off an excellent individual season by picking up the league and Scottish Cup.
