Callum McGregor, Liel Abada and Shen Mengyu – who scored the opening goal in the Women’s Scottish Cup final win over Glasgow City at Tynecastle at the end of last month – are the stars of the first Celtic kit launch for season 2022/23.

The campaign was launched this morning with the Celtic fan media receiving media information and images just after 8am. There were rumours last night – more out of hope than expectation it has to be said – that both Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers would star in this campaign, signalling that the two players who were on loan from Benfica and Tottenham Hotspur respectively last season were committed to Celtic for the coming campaign.

That was never likely to happen as it would have detracted from the signing announcements themselves which hopefully are not too far away.

The first release of the Celtic x adidas kit collection for 2022/23 offers an eye-catching Away shirt evoking early ’90s vibes.
