Mick Beale? “He’s relying on Celtic making mistakes,” reckons Chris Sutton

Chris Sutton has addressed the claims made by the newly commissioned gaffer for theRangers, Mick Beale. When addressing the nine-point gap between the Hoops and theRangers, Beale has claimed that it is a hurdle that can be overcome, and refuses to rule out their chances of clutching the tile.

However, the former Celtic striker remains unbothered by the claims made by Beale, as he believes there was no other appropriate response for a newly appointed manager to give when discussing the chances of success.
Sutton continues to claim that the title race is firmly in the control of Celtic, as Mick Beale will be relying on the Bhoys making mistakes.

Writing in his column in Daily Record, Sutton explained his reasons for his lack of worry at these bold claims…

“There has been a lot of talk coming out of rangers since the appointment of Michael Beale and, to be honest, there’s not a lot wrong with that. The new manager has immediately stated that the nine-point gap to Celtic can be overcome.”

“What else was he going to say? Oh, we can’t catch Celtic? This is about building for next season? Of course, he’s going to say that. He’d have been hammered for saying anything else.”

“But the truth is that it is down to Celtic. Unless Rangers win all three remaining old firm games, and I don’t see that happening, it is out of Beale’s hands. He’s relying on Celtic making mistakes against the rest and that’s where the champions have to be solid and not offer a shard of light on dark winter’s days to their rivals.”

Mick Beale clutching at straws

The title is Celtic’s to lose, they have only dropped points once so far this season. If they continue to show this hunger, there will be little to no chance of Beale’s side catching up.

The Bhoys are set to resume their season away to Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Saturday 17 December. Hopefully, the Hoops will be well-rested and eager to continue their title run, as their short hiatus due to the World Cup comes to an end.
