Moritz Jenz’s agent is expected to be in Glasgow today to continue discussions with Celtic over a move for the German defender. The Lorient defender has emerged as a target for the Scottish Champions in recent days and now, it appears that he will move closer to becoming Ange Postecoglou’s latest signing.
According to Sky Sports News’ Anthony Joseph, Jenz’ agent is in Glasgow and the club will look to secure the player on a season-long loan with an option to buy should he impress.

Celtic were linked with Jenz last summer but the player joined Lorient. After a season in Ligue 1, Jenz made 18 appearances as his team battled relegation. The player will be wanting first team football and the opportunity to compete for trophies and play in Europe will be a huge draw for the player.
Jenz currently has four years remaining on his deal and it appears that Celtic are being careful in this deal, perhaps learning the lesson from the Albian Ajeti deal. This is a model that the club have had success with recently with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota.
The club are close to concluding a deal for Aaron Mooy on a year-long contract with an option for a further year, should both the player and the club be contented with the veteran midfielder’s output.
