Motherwell v Celtic: team news, KO time and where to watch

Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic continue their defence of the League Cup this evening as they travel to face Motherwell at Fir Park. A place in the Semi-Finals at Hampden awaits the winner and the holders will be hoping to book their place at the National Stadium. Celtic won 4-1 against Ross County back in August in Dingwall, earning them the trip to face Stevie Hamill’s side.

Team News

The manager has updated that there are no fresh injuries following the 6-1 win over Hibernian in the Premiership. David Turnbull and Jota remain sidelined but should be available for the trip to Tynecastle at the weekend while longer term injuries keep both Carl Starfelt and Callum McGregor sidelined. James Forrest is likely to start after his wonderful hat-trick at the weekend took him to 100 goals. Ange Posteclogou is weighing up a goalkeeper switch so may opt to play Ben Siegrist this evening.

The  Celtic team could look something like this…Siegrist, Juranovic, Bernabei, Carter Vickers, Jenz, Mooy, O’Riley, Hatate, Forrest, Giakoumakis, Maeda.

Kick Off Time

The game will kick off at 18:15 (Celtic Park time).

Where to Watch

The game will be shown on Premier Sport with the coverage beginning at 17:45. The game will also be available on Celtic TV for subscribers outside Britain and Ireland.

The defence of the trophy will begin this evening and it will prove to be a tough challenge.
