Motherwell v Celtic: team news, KO time and where to watch

Celtic face Motherwell this afternoon as Ange Postecoglou’s side look to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership table. Following the emphatic 3-0 win over Rangers on Wednesday, Celtic travel to South Lanarkshire to face Graham Alexander’s Steelmen.

Celtic climbed to the summit of the Premiership thanks to goals from Reo Hatate and Liel Abada on a memorable night under the lights at Paradise. However, the manager has indicated that the focus is firmly on the next game.

Team News

There are no fresh injury concerns following the win over Rangers. Callum McGregor was excellent in the middle of the pitch, despite wearing a protective face mask. The performances of his midfield colleagues may make it difficult for the returning Tom Rogic to reclaim his starting spot. However, with what Ange said about Reo following his brace, you would expect that the pair would share time on the pitch today.

Given the amount of games to play, Ange may look to shuffle the pack but the performance against Dundee United in the first half might dissuade him from making too many changes. Maeda’s return may displace Giakoumakis, who was excellent on Wednesday. The big Greek striker was unfortunate to exit the pitch without a goal to his name.

Kyogo Furuhashi (hamstring), Yosuke Ideguchi (ankle) and Albian Ajeti (hamstring) remain out injured. Wide duo Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele have returned to training with both keen to impress the manager enough to play a part in the coming weeks.

Kick Off Time

The game will kick off at 1:30 pm (Celtic Park Time).

Where to Watch

For Celtic TV subscribers outside the UK & Ireland, the game will be shown on the club’s platform. For those inside the UK & Ireland, the game will be shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football, with coverage commencing at 1 pm. Following the game at Motherwell, coverage will switch to Ibrox, where Rangers face 3rd placed Hearts.

It is another massive game for Celtic and hopefully all three points can be secured as Ange’s team continue their march on all fronts.
