LIAM BURT has been the subject of a huge amount of speculation in the last few days, claiming that the youngster would be leaving the club after just a season. The 21-year-old appeared to be staying at Celtic when he posted to his Instagram account a photo of Lennoxtown; however, the Glasgow Times are reporting that he will leave the club.
The report states that Burt will leave the club on June 30 as his deal expires. Burt has struggled to make an impact on the first team with Rogic, Christie and Ntcham all vying for the attacking midfielder role within Neil Lennon’s starting XI.
Burt signed from Rangers last year after making 3 first team appearances but has failed to make his first team debut for Celtic. Burt scored a hat-trick and managed to get two assists in a win over Stenhousemuir but seemingly it has not been enough to get him involved in the first team.
Whilst there is nothing official from the club, Burt will be forced to find himself a new club should the report from the Glasgow Times be spot on. The U21 Internationalist will be hot property due to his age and contract status. Moves elsewhere in Scotland could appeal to Burt as could a potential move down south as clubs look to sign youngsters or free transfers.
