‘You never won a trophy in Scotland,’ Windass slapped down by former Celtic striker

ON SUNDAY the former Rangers midfielder Josh Windass, who was off loaded by Steven Gerrard after just one league game this season, trolled Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata on social media.

Windass, responding to a journalist, observed that he reckoned that Boyata had been talked about weeks before as being worth £50million. Not quite sure where he picked that one up but it caused the inevitable social media storm with enough Celtic boys giving Windass enough reason to regret his inaccurate remarks.

This evening a former Celtic striker got involved in the argument. Amido Balde told Windass, “You were worth nothing and left nothing. You never won a trophy in Scotland also,” much to the delight of Celtic fans.

Balde of course played against Steven Gerrard when he captained Liverpool and was managed by non other that Brendan Rodgers.

Neil Lennon’s Celtic won the match played in Dublin on 10 August 2013, 1-0 and picked up the trophy. The match winning goal that meant that the cup wasn’t presented to Steven Gerrard, was scored by the Celtic striker Amido Balde!
