New Bhoy Ajeti insists that he ‘deserved to play more’ at West Ham

ALBIAN AJETI has stated that he deserved more of a chance at Premier League side West Ham and that the lack of game time in his debut season in England led him to sign for the Scottish Champions.

The Swiss Internationalist signed earlier today in a four year deal but was quick to address his torrid time at the London Stadium, where he made just 12 times following a £8m move from Basel in 2019. Speaking to the media conference at Celtic Park this afternoon, Ajeti said that he was happy to have signed even if he was disappointed he didn’t get more of a chance in London.

“Yes, to be fair I deserved to play more, I don’t need to hide that. I deserved that.

“But this is football, this is how it is. I am really happy now. What is gone is gone and I’m looking forward now.

“I just think I need to play and this is why I signed for Celtic.”

Ajeti is Celtic’s third signing of the transfer window with Barkas and Elyounoussi joining. The Scottish Champions will need to enter the market for a central defender, left back and right winger in the next few weeks as they look to qualify for the Champions League as well as claw back the points difference on Rangers following the postponement of two fixtures.

The prospect of a 3-5-2 involving Elyounoussi on the left as well as Edouard and Ajeti in attack is quite exciting for supporters.
