New Celtic strip causes a stir online ahead of official launch

Celtic have released a teaser of an announcement this coming Friday about the new Celtic home kit. After the release of the new away kit which has gone down a storm it has to be said, this latest one has caused a bit of a stir as many have been slightly unimpressed by the new-look Hoops.

The Hoops is an important feature to the club and is a famous hallmark of the institution for some years. This latest one by Adidas has the hooped shirt but its internal design seems to be a considerable departure from the traditional Celtic mould. Likewise, the black stripes down the the arms seem to be considerably different and it’s causing a few raised eyebrows.

Nobody is ever going to love every Celtic strip universally and unconditionally of course, so it is a matter of taste most of the time. However, the reaction it has created online in the comments section of this latest instalment is quite revealing. Have a look at the reaction to the newest strip teaser below…

Safe to say Adidas might have some explaining to do or maybe when everyone sees it for themselves opinions might change. It might not be the best strip yet but it’s certainly not the worst! Have a look at this…

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
