A few months ago you’d have been shot down in flames in an instant if you even dared to question Nicolas Kuhn’s place in this Celtic side…

Such was his sizzling form both domestically and in Europe, the German winger was seen as very much our most prized asset with rumours of numerous interest in the former Rapid Wien man. There was even talk of a big money offer in the pipeline.
That scintillating form however has since evaporated
That scintillating form however has since evaporated however with some even suggesting that the much scrutinised Yang be handed his chance in favour of the German.
Nicolas has looked a pale shadow of himself for a good few weeks now, and that was highlighted when he was hooked at the interval after the first half horror show in the Glasgow Derby.

Why has Nicolas Kuhn gone off the boil?
What could be the reason in his drastic change of fortunes? Could it be that he’s been unsettled by the talk of any proposed transfer or has he indicated to the club that he wants a move? Could it be that his fitness is the issue, as in his defence he did take a knock after a superb showing in the Allianz against Bayern, and he’s looked a pale shadow of the player he was before.

Nicolas has got to start performing
Whatever the reason, he can’t afford to dwell on it. Nicolas has got to start performing again if he wants to keep his place in the side, as Brendan Rodgers won’t hesitate to wield the axe, especially with the form of Yang and the impending return of James Forrest, who incidentally needs a goal to maintain his consecutive scoring record in every season he has been a Celtic player.

Kuhn will start tomorrow but it’s getting close to Brendan Rodgers making a change to his starting XI and that could come next week at Perth if there’s not a notable improvement from Nicolas tomorrow.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
