Nine Years To The Day Since “The Greatest Half Time Show Ever” At Inverness (“Again”)

4 February 2012 is a day that will forever be remembered by the Celtic support; not because we beat Inverness 2-0 in the highlands, but because the entire half time break featured a party to celebrate the impending demise of Rangers… and who could forget that famous Celtic battle cry “AGAIN!”

Georgios Samaras put the Hoops in front with an absolutely stunning swirling strike that day, then Broony made the result secure with a penalty in the second half.

The match is easily forgotten, but the real story of the day was the half time celebrations which proclaimed that Rangers are going bust. Alongside the half time party, described as “the greatest half time show ever,” was one supporter’s constant bellowing out the instruction “AGAIN!” He got his wish as the noise didn’t abate until the teams returned to the park.

Shortly after these scenes, Rangers entered administration on Valentine’s Day before that romantic tale was compounded by the club being liquidated in the close-season.

A new “company” was subsequently formed and were fast tracked up the leagues to begin in the Scottish Third Division.
