Nir Bitton is a steady squad player at Parkhead these days. A natural holding midfielder, he falls behind the likes of Brown, McGregor and Ntcham in the pecking order. Nevertheless, the Israeli international does a good job filling in at centre back when required.
Bitton recently signed a new deal keeping him at the club until 2023, at which point he would have given 10 years of service to the club. Thus, having been a Celtic player for seven years at present, he was well placed to put together a decent five a side team, made up of his best Celtic teammates, for the club’s official Twitter page.
Bitton chose three current teammates – Forster, Scott Brown and Tom Rogic. Meanwhile, his defender was Virgyl Van Dijk and the striker was Moussa Dembele.
💬 NB: Hard to say but over my Celtic career I would go for:
➖ Fraser
➖ @VirgilvDijk
➖ @ScottBrown8
➖ @Tom_Rogic

As part of the Celtic Twitter Q&A, Bitton was also asked what his favourite goal has been during his time at the club. Having scored a stunning long range effort against Scott Bain, who was then of Dundee, Bitton said:”My favourite is the goal against Ajax in the Europa League because of the occasion. I have scored a few screamers in the league too… you can ask my good friend Bainy (Scott Bain), he was one of my victims.”
