No goals and three Injuries – first half worries for Ange Postecoglou

Celtic have been steady in this evening’s game against Bristol City. The Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou named a mixture of youth and experience to face the EFL Championship outfit but at the end of the first half, Ange had no goals and three injuries to show for the first half of this pre-season friendly.

The first injury came before the game kicked off with Vasilis Barkas seeming to injure himself during the warm-up. The Greek Internationalist was pictured watching from the side with a wrapped finger. He was replaced by Scott Bain in the Starting XI but it is a blow for the goalie if it means that he might have a spell on the sidelines as it looked as if Ange fancied him as his first pick between the sticks.

The second change came from a player that has been plagued with Mikey Johnston pulling up with what seemed to be like a hamstring injury. The 22-year-old was replaced by Adam Montgomery but it is a real blow for the winger that has promised a lot with his pace, skill and eye for goal. However, the player went up the tunnel and the fact that he walked off makes you think that it may be a bad injury for an extremely talented player. Hopefully, it is just a short layoff for Johnston.

Ewan Henderson was forced to replace Karamoko Dembele after the youngster was clattered by Casey Palmer in a shocking challenge for a friendly. Dembele was left rhything in agony on the ground. He was forced to leave the field meaning that the manager is looking extremely short on options on the wings ahead of the game against FC Midtjylland on Tuesday.

Ange will likely make a number of changes in the second half but there were a number of first team players like Edouard, Ajer, Rogic, Bolingoli and Christie were not in the squad today but will hopefully be involved at the weekend.
