Norwich sack manager, could have implications on Celtic deal for Idah

Norwich have sacked manager David Wagner just hours after their Championship Play-off Semi Final defeat to Leeds. The Canaries were soundly beaten 4-0 at Elland Rd to end their promotion hopes.

The announcement that Wagner has been sacked could, however, have implications upon Celtic with the club weighing up a deal to sign Adam Idah.

Norwich sanctioned a deal to send the Irishman to Celtic Park in January with Sydney Van Hooijdonk arriving in East Anglia from Bologna. Celtic fans were largely unhappy with the January business but Idah has had a huge influence on the club – scoring at Motherwell, Hibs and Ibrox to help Celtic win the title.

Idah has eight goals and two assists in seventeen appearances since joining on loan until the end of season. Celtic will need to pay upwards of £6m to sign the 23-year-old but a new manager may be keen to have a look at him after his fine displays at Celtic.
