Columbus Crew general manager Issa Tall has stated that Celtic have not made any contact regarding Wilfried Nancy…

Tall, who took on the role as Columbus Crew GM in 2024, has been working closely with Nancy, who has been heavily linked to be a candidate for the permanent managerial job at the Scottish champions.
Although several reports suggest discussions are already well underway between Nancy and Celtic, Tall denied these claims during a recent podcast interview.
Speaking via Inside The Crew, Nancy said: “I was told there was a report that said we gave permission to Celtic, but in order to get permission, you have to ask. We haven’t had anything from that particular club. We’ve never received something official. I’m not saying it couldn’t come into my mailbox in the next hour, but for now we haven’t heard anything.”

Since taking charge of Columbus Crew, the 48-year-old French coach has achieved major success at the Ohio club, guiding them to both the MLS Cup and the Leagues Cup titles.
Celtic are looking to appoint a new full-time manager after Brendan Rodgers stepped down more than three weeks ago. In the meantime, Martin O’Neill has taken over on an interim basis, with Shaun Maloney acting as his assistant.

Since taking over, O’Neill has guided the team to three victories in four matches, including emphatic 4–0 wins over Falkirk and Kilmarnock in the Premiership, and a 3–1 triumph against theRangers in the Premier Sports League Cup semi-final.
It’s a crucial three weeks or so coming up for Celtic who face three difficult away games in a row to St Mirren tomorrow night, then Feyenoord which is followed by a trip to Easter Road to face Hibernian next Sunday.
Also, the Premier Sports League Cup final is just around the corner and whether O’Neill and Maloney will still be in charge by then remains to be seen.

The Celtic Board so far have said nothing at all about any prospective candidate for the Celtic manager’s job after the resignation offer from Brendan Rodgers was accepted at the end of last month. The Daily Record though was almost certainly briefed as the Wilfried Nancy speculation moved to the next level.
Supporters can reasonable expect some kind of update today at the Celtic PLC AGM where shareholders are likely to want to know what is happening and when a new manager was in place. Last night there were rumours of Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney continuing in post as the interim management team until the end of the season.
You never know with Celtic but hopefully we’ll get some answers today.
