Ntcham subbed off at half-time as miserable Marseille stint continues

Olivier Ntcham was not given the usual pleasantries when you arrive on deadline day, a beaming photo op with your new manager normally ensues. However, for the 24-year-old, his arrival sparked ex-Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas offering to resign immediately. The Portuguese boss subsequently left but Ntcham has featured for just twenty seven minutes since arriving in Marseille. L’OM decided to start Ntcham tonight in their trip to face Lille but the midfielder was a half-time sub.

The Frenchman joined from Manchester City for £4.5m in 2017. Although game time has been limited this season, now even more so with the emergence of Ismaila Soro and David Turnbull into the Celtic midfield. The player seemed desperate to leave the club but maybe he is having second thoughts as he appears to be on the fringes of the Southern France outfit.

The midfielder signed for Brendan Rodgers from City and has made 137 appearances, scoring 23 goals in a trophy laden period for the club. The player looked set to have played his last game for the club but now, he looks as if his time in Marseille may spark a Celtic return.
