Oh set for £24m move one year after premature Celtic exit

Celtic could be in line for a surprise windfall as South Korean striker Oh looks to make a move to VFB Stuttgart. The centre forward is on the move just one year after leaving Celtic Park as KRC Genk look to benefit to make up to £20m on the deal.

In an update from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Oh is on the way to Germany to complete the move and pen a five year deal.

There was a feeling that there was more to offer from Oh. The change in manager may have contributed to a downturn in minutes but a sale might’ve been premature. Now, Genk will benefit from giving the player a platform and hopefully Celtic have included a sell-on clause.

Oh was signed in Ange Postecoglou’s second season as a replacement for Giorgos Giakoumakis; however, he never really found his feet in Glasgow. In 47 appearances for Celtic, Oh scored 12 goals, before moving on to join Belgian side Genk.

  1. Another plus for our elite manager with an eye for an attacking player. As long as we keep playing the square pegs in the round holes and stick to Plan A we should be fairly confident

    • You can’t use the word “elite” sarcastically, the happy clappers won’t like that. It speaks volumes that he made our most potent, attacking threat Kyogo, less potent and less of a threat last season. All because he “wanted him more involved in the play”

  2. Always thought Oh had something to offer. Sharp movement and energy and played like he had something to prove. Never got the minutes and was never first choice. But has proven himself over the last couple of years so well done son.
