On This Day in 2016, Celtic Park welcomed Brendan Rodgers as the club’s new manager. The Irishman was appointed to replace Ronny Deila and was welcomed to the stadium by thousands of jubilant fans as he promised to continue Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football.
On a glorious summer’s day at the end of the season, the former Liverpool and Swansea boss arrived just days after the deal was announced. After coming onto the pitch, Rodgers spoke to the fans before heading to face the media where he promised success.

In a surprising set of circumstances, Rodgers returned to Celtic Park in June 2024 after Ange Postecoglou swapped Glasgow for North London. Upon being unveiled at Celtic Park for the second time, Rodgers said that he would see supporters that needed convincing of his return back at Paradise in May. The manager lived up to that promise helping the club towards a third successive league title.
Rodgers will be targeting a Double in his first season back at Celtic by beating Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final on Saturday.
