On This Day, Celtic celebrate the birthday of midfielder David Turnbull. The Scottish midfielder turns 23 today and was impressive during Celtic’s pre-season draw with Rapid Vienna. The ex-Motherwell player assisted Kyogo and his teammate returned the favour as Ange Postecoglou’s side turned out an exciting draw in their second pre-season game of the tour of Austria.

Turnbull has 19 goals and 16 assists in 77 appearances since joining from Fir Park. The deal was completed in the summer of 2020 but Celtic had been close to signing the player a year previous only for a rare knee problem to be flagged up at the medical. He had to get himself fit and prove that he was good enough to play for Celtic. He has certainly stepped up and at just 23, he will continue to get better.
