On This Day: Hartson scores in final appearance, big wins against Motherwell and Leeds

On This Day in the illustrious history of Celtic Football Club, there are a number of games to reflect on and recall for those that may wish to remember where they were on the day in question. OTD in 2006, John Hartson made his final appearance for Celtic in a 2-2 draw versus Aberdeen at Pittodrie. As there is no football on the horizon, Twitter’s LilZe is a great source on Twitter to get your daily fix of Celtic games through the years.

Within five minutes of his Celtic farewell, Hartson scored a header from close range after Aiden McGeady’s venomous strike rattled the bar. Maloney made it 2-0 from a counteract as Celtic cleared their lines with a boot up the park.

The Dons substitute John Stewart scored twice in quick succession to give the Pittodrie side a point as Celtic squandered a late chance to win the game.
