THERE is not a lot of football being played right now across the world as Coronavirus takes hold – except Belarus, where vodka and saunas are meant to keep the virus at bay. However, thanks to @Lilze85 on Twitter, we can take a trip down memory lane and look at some of Celtic’s goals on this day. Two league titles were won as well as some stunning goals from Tommy Burns, Virgil Van Dijk and Shunsuke Nakamura.
1978 – Celtic 5 Partick Thistle 2
A win over Glasgow rivals Partick Thistle was Jock Stein’s last game in charge of Celtic at Paradise.

1981 – Dundee United 2 Celtic 3
Celtic won the league at Tannadice with a 3-2 win over Dundee United. Macleod, McGarvey and a screamer from Tommy Burns gave Billy McNeil’s side a hard-fought victory.

1989 – Celtic 2 Dundee 1
Goals from Anton Rogan and Mark McGhee gave Celtic a home win over Dundee at Celtic Park.

2001 – Celtic 1 Hearts 0
Lubomir Moravcik scored the winner as Martin O’Neill’s Treble-chasing side disposed of Hearts on trophy-day at Celtic Park.

2007 – Kilmarnock 1 Celtic 2
A brilliant 92nd minute winner from a Nakamura free-kick sealed the league title for Gordon Strachan’s side. Colin Nish cancelled out Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink’s opener as Celtic left it late to win the title at Rugby Park.

2012 – Motherwell 0 Celtic 3
A brace from debutant Tony Watt and a goal from Cha-Du-Ri gave Celtic a comprehensive win over Motherwell at Fir Park. Certainly a debut to remember!

Virgil Van Dijk conjured up something special from a free-kick (something about this date maybe) as Gary Mackay-Steven got Celtic’s other goal in a 2-1 win at Dens Park.
