On This Day in Celtic’s illustrious, unbroken history there are a number of games that took place. Thanks to LilZe on Twitter, we can take a trip down memory lane and look at some of Celtic’s game on this day…
1955 – CELTIC 1 CLYDE 1
Honours were even between Celtic and Clyde in the 1955 Scottish Cup final. Jimmy Walsh scored for Celtic before Archie Robertson equalised for Clyde late on and sent the game to a replay four days later. Sadly for Jimmy McGrory’s side, Clyde won that match 1-0.

1988 – CELTIC 3 DUNDEE 0
Celtic clinched the title back in 1988 thanks to two goals from Andy Walker and an effort from Chris Morris. Supporters crammed into Celtic Park broke out in a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday to you’ as the club celebrated the league in its Centenary season. The official attendance was lodged at 60,000; however, in years to come it would be admitted that it was far higher.

2017 – CELTIC 2 RANGERS 0
The previous year Celtic had been knocked out of the Scottish Cup semi-final by Rangers at Hampden. One year on and Brendan Rodgers’ relentless Celtic had the chance to redeem themselves and set up a Scottish Cup final versus Aberdeen as the Scottish Champions chased a treble. A first half goal from Callum McGregor was all Celtic had to show for their dominance at the break but a second came when Scott Sinclair converted a penalty won by Leigh Griffiths. Celtic cruised to the final banishing the memories of the semi-final the year before.
