Osaze Urhoghide says his Sheffield Wednesday Goodbyes as Celtic look to compete signing

Osaze Urhoghide has posted his goodbye message to Sheffield Wednesday as the defender prepares to move to Glasgow.

“Thank you Sheffield Wednesday and all those involved over the last two years from staff to fans. Since my debut at Brighton away to the Yorkshire derby win at Leeds, it’s given me memories that will last a lifetime,” Osaze stated.

Celtic have targeted the Dutch-born defender, who is out of contract at Hillsborough, and he looks like being Ange Postecoglou’s first signing and Celtic’s second from Sheffield Wednesday in recent weeks after Luke Shaw’s move to Paradise.

And the fee for signing Urhoghide will be limited to a cross border training fee of around £200k, an absolute steal for a player attracting interest from the likes of Leeds United, Crystal Palace and also the likes of Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and Club Brugge.

Twenty year old Urhoghide is highly rated at Hillsborough and can play as right-back or centre half. Hopefully this one gets over the line…
