Celtic FC Women beat Partick Thistle thanks to a Murphy Agnew goal and Shannon McGregor’s brilliant brace. What a signing she’s turning out to be for Elena Sadiku…
Shannon got Celtic off to the perfect start as she headed in at the back post with just one minute on the clock from the tightest of angles at the back post at the home of Kirkintilloch Rob Roy.

Then with half an hour gone, American striker Murphy Agnew smashed it home at the near post from a decent cross from Jenny Smith to double Celtic’s advantage in Kirkintilloch. That goal should do Agnew the world of good.

Our Ghirls kept the pressure up, looking for more goals to add to their tally, and more would come in the second half.
On the hour mark, McGregor got a brace for herself with a wonderfully struck shot from distance. She caught the goalkeeper off her line and slotted it into the bottom corner.

One of our new signing made her debut in the Hoops with 13 minutes left to play as McGregor made way for Emma Lawton. Coming on against her former side, she didn’t have much to do, but certainly helped to push her new side over the line.
