Patryk Klimala set for Celtic exit in £3.5m move

Patryk Klimala looks set to make a move to MLS side New York Red Bulls. The Polish striker could leave for £3.5m as reported by The Daily Record, meaning Celtic could recoup the fee paid to Jagiellonia Bialystock in January 2020.

Klimala has managed just five starting appearances so far this season but has been Celtic’s most used substitute coming off the bench, or more accurately in the Covid hit season on 23 occasions. New York Red Bull are keen on bringing the Poland U21s attacker to the club – something that Celtic may be agreeable to in order to get the 22-year-old game time and his confidence back after a bruising year in Glasgow.

Celtic sold Cameron Harper to the New York outfit earlier this year as well as loaning Andrew Gutman. Now, Klimala looks set to join his former colleagues in The Big Apple.

Celtic will be undertaking an enormous rebuilding exercise and two people that brought Klimala to the club, Nicky Hammond and Neil Lennon have left the club. A new manager, a Director of Football and even a new Chief Executive will be in place ahead of next season as Celtic look to reclaim their title.
