Paula Partido has confirmed that she will be leaving Celtic FC Women and returning to her parent club, Real Madrid.
In an Instagram post, Paula said: “There is no better way to say goodbye to this club. I’ll always be grateful to every single people who have been part of this great family, from each of the players to all the staff, for welcoming me from the first day as if I had been here all my life. Just thank you, thank you and thank you.
“Fans, I don’t even know how to give thanks for all this year, every single game, you were there, no matter where it was, no matter what time it was, no matter how the weather was, you were there. All that we get this year, it’s thanks to you.
“I’ll forever support Celtic. Mon the hoops, always.”
Paula was loaned to the Hoops for the duration of the 2023/24 season. The 19-year-old had earned a chance in the Real Madrid first team before arriving in Glasgow and had even scored a goal in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
She was an exciting loan signing for the club and she certainly lived up to the hype, playing an important role in the Celts’ title-winning season. She ends the campaign with three goals and eight assists having appeared for the club 23 times in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.
Hopefully, her promising career can kick on at the Spanish giants and her chances enhanced from her championship winning form playing for Celtic.
The perfect way to round off an incredible year. Thank you for everything @paulapartido_7 👏💚#CelticFC🍀#COYGIG https://t.co/uRoUmO08O3 pic.twitter.com/SznOirmEJv
