Celtic’s Stephen Welsh has been included in the SPFL’s Team of the Week after a goalscoring performance at the weekend in the win over Motherwell. The young defender headed Celtic into an early lead and was resolute at the back despite a fluke consolation goal from the ‘Well. As well as being recognised as MOTM on Saturday, Welsh has now been included in the TOTW.

After the game, Welsh was modest in his assessment of his debut goal, instead praising his teammate Turnbull for the quality of the delivery. It shows that the player is humble but also hungry to emulate his teammate and become a mainstay in the Celtic team.
