Photo: Daizen Maeda set for Celtic return

Daizen Maeda is on his way back to Scotland after his World Cup adventure. The Japanese forward was instrumental in his side qualifying for the Last 16. However, he’s now getting ready to return to aid the Scottish Champions.

Maeda had a great World Cup. His talent shone through along with his drive and determination. The Japanese forward cut a maligned figure in the first few months of the season as his form struggled to click but he showed in Qatar that he can be a big part of Ange’s team moving forward. Not that the manager had any doubts! Pundits were praising the attacker for his tenacity in the tournament and he got his rewards with a World Cup goal.

Maeda may be hoping to be involved as Celtic resume SPFL duty on Saturday against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
