Today’s photo of the day feature brings readers an image from the 2007/08 Champions League campaign, and a match when Celtic beat Benfica 1-0 at Paradise.
Aiden McGeady scored the only goal of the game, a deflected effort from outside the box. That first half strike sent the crowd into raptures and was enough to topple another European giant. Celtic achieved that with incredible regularity at that time, not only by going unbeaten at home for many games, but also by getting several outright victories and scoring a lot of important goals.
