Photo Of The Day: Bobo Balde In Action Against Dundee

Today’s photo of the day revisits an old match against this afternoon’s opponents, Dundee. It’s back to 2003 for our feature, as cult hero Bobo Balde is shown in action at Dens Park in September of that year.

Celtic struggled against a decent ‘Dee team, especially as Didier Agathe was controversially given his marching orders for preventing a goal scoring opportunity in the 25th minute. Referee Dougie McDonald made an atrocious call when he adjudged the Celtic full back to have hauled down Nacho Novo, only for replays to show that there was no contact.

Nevertheless, Bobo towered high above everyone else to score a phenomenal header from a free kick and that goal was enough to separate the sides at full time.
