Photo Of The Day: Celtic Win The Title 1982

Today’s photo of the day shows the joyous scene as Celtic celebrated clinching the league title in 1982.

The match that sealed it was a home fixture against St Mirren, in which second half goals from McCluskey (2) and McAdam secured a 3-0 win for the Hoops.

After the match, Paradise was teeming with excitement and Danny McGrain took it upon himself to ‘feed the bear’ with champagne. Aitken was a wilfull participant.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before similar scenes are repeated at Parkhead.

    On this day Aberdeen were 4_0 up v the oldco at halftime as hadn’t we won Aberdeen could have caught us for the title and we were 0=0 at halftime so it was quite a nervy occasion
