Photo Of The Day: Chris Hay Celebrates Scoring Against Manchester United

Today’s photo of the day dates back to December 1995, when Celtic beat Manchester United 3-1 in Paul McStay’s Testimonial at Paradise.

Van Hooijdonk put Celtic ahead in the early stages, before Scholes drew Utd level. The Dutchman then restored the Bhoys’ lead before in the 65th minute and Chris Hay, on as a second half substitute for Phil O’Donnell, made sure of things in the closing stages.

Hay was at Celtic for four years between 1993 and 1997. He made just 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring five times; whilst his Celtic highlight was with the reserves when he netted a hat trick against Rangers. Finding the net against Man Utd must also rank high in the list of his Paradise memories.
