Photo Of The Day: Naka’s Free Kick Hits The Net, A Moment Before Celtic Realise They Are Champions

Today’s photo of the day takes you back to 2007 when Celtic clinched the league title at Rugby Park. The scene captured is a fabulous moment as Nakamura’s championship winning free kick nestles in the back of the net, but the Celtic players and supporters haven’t yet noticed.

The following tweet shows the subsequent pandemonium as the faithful realise what has happened.

And in the interests of accuracy, here’s some footage of THAT free kick.

Gordon Strachan won three league titles in a row as Celtic manager. This match delivered the second of that trilogy and came as comfortably as the first. The third would not be quite so straight forward.
