Photo Of The Day: The Bhoys Retro Two Sticks Display Marks 50 Years Since Lisbon

Today’s photo of the day combines history with recent events as the chosen image comes from Firhill in May 2017.

Celtic were in relentless form, swatting aside Partick Thistle 5-0 on the way to completing an Invincible Treble. The game took place on a beautiful summer’s evening. The feel good factor was immense and the atmosphere was top drawer. Action on the field was equally superb and goals from Callum McGregor and Paddy Roberts stood out as being particularly tremendous.

Arguably, the highlight of night came before kick off when the Bhoys ultras group unveiled a magnificent two sticks display to commemorate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Lisbon Lions winning the European Cup. The banners were inspired by those that were pictured in the Estadio Nacional…
