Photo: “The Embodiment Of Celtic,” Green Brigade’s Artistic Tribute To Bertie Auld

The last few hours have been heartbreaking. The Celtic support feel a horrendous sense of loss and that grief is shared by fans of clubs such as Birmingham City, Hibernian, Partick Thistle, Dumbarton and Hamilton Academical too. Tributes have come in from far and wide, Bertie Auld central in everyone’s thoughts today.

One of the most poignantly worded, and artistically displayed, tributes was that by the Green Brigade Ultras this morning. The group uploaded a picture of a fabulous mural that they have painted in Glasgow, alongside another image of Bertie joining in with their 50th anniversary of Lisbon display.

The accompanying caption said so much in so few words:

“You were the spirit of that most famous Celtic side. More impressively, you remained the spirit of Celtic no matter the side or generation. You were the embodiment of Celtic.

RIP Bertie”
