Two recent home games have seen Celtic supporters support charity in their droves. The Green Brigade held their annual food bank collection prior to the defeat against Hearts at Celtic Park on 7 December, which saw 8 vans filled with food and more than £20,000 donated to food banks from collection boxes. Meanwhile, The Bhoys held a winter clothing collection, in conjunction with The Invisibles independent charity yesterday – ensuring a Luton van full of items was able to be distributed around Glasgow to the homeless.
Updates regarding each collection have been posted on social media today. The Green Brigade posted the following information to the North Curve Celtic X page.

These actions are in keeping with the founding mission of Celtic Football Club. Indeed, the club’s first circular – published in January 1888 – clearly stated: ‘The main objective of the club is to supply the East End conferences of the St. Vincent De Paul Society with funds for the maintenance of the “Dinner Tables” of our needy children in the Missions of St Mary’s, Sacred Heart, and St. Michael’s. Many cases of sheer poverty are left unaided through lack of means. It is therefore with this principle object that we have set afloat the “Celtic”.’
These supporter groups and the thousands of Celtic fans who donate are carrying out the vision of those who launched the club more than 130 years ago.

70 million pounds buys a lot of food and clothes I think.
AAK.
