Photos: Celts Get Down To Business In Dubai

Images of Neil Lennon and Scott Brown sitting by a swimming pool with a beer in hand didn’t go down too well with supporters. Celtic fans are clearly frustrated at the Bhoys having a jolly up, during a pandemic, whilst they sit 19 points behind the Rangers in the league table.

It’s not all booze and sunbathing though, as the club’s Twitter account have uploaded a series of pictures showing the players hard at work this morning.

Last year’s trip to Dubai was something of a turning point. Neil Lennon had two weeks to work with his players on that occasion and worked on a new 3-5-2 formation. On returning to Glasgow, Celtic were in relentless form and stormed to a 13 point lead before the season was curtailed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This time the circumstances are different. Celtic trail by 19 points after a Glasgow Derby defeat, rather than being level after the same experience last year. Another key difference is that the Rangers had a game in hand last season, whereas Celtic have three games in hand this time, and are set to concede another game to their Glasgow rivals, who play against Aberdeen this weekend. Victory in every remaining game doesn’t guarantee the title as the Rangers would have to drop another four or five points (dependent on goal difference). We can but hope that the trip inspires us to victory.
