The Celtic First team squad and Celtic Manager Ange Postecoglou today paid a special virtual visit to kids at Glasgow Children’s Hospital.

Just last week, Celtic FC Foundation announced a £10,000 donation to support the fantastic work of the hospital and today gave the Celtic Manager and players a chance to also send the best Christmas wishes of everyone at the club. In advance of today’s event, the club also delivered some very special Christmas gifts to the children.

Across a number of zoom calls, the Celtic squad met kids from across the range of wards at the hospital.

Celtic Captain Callum McGregor said:

“While the restrictions make it difficult for us to make our normal visit to the hospital, it is really important for us that we get the chance to meet the kids and send our best wishes at Christmas. It is really humbling to see these kids and the real difficult challenges many of them face, but we want them to know we are thinking of them all. We know Christmas can be a hugely difficult time for the children and their families, but we are right with them. We also send our thanks and best wishes to all the staff who do such a brilliant job in caring for so many children in need.”

Kirsten Watson, CEO, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity said: “It was a joy to welcome the Celtic players virtually to the hospital today. We’re so grateful that the players took time out of their busy training schedules to bring so many smiles and happiness to our young patients, who eagerly await this visit every year. While we miss seeing the players in person, the virtual visits are still lots of fun and make such a difference to children in hospital at Christmas. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the club for their continued support.”
