Predictably Ibrox club now linked with Celtic target Elijah Just

Celtic are reportedly set to face competition from latest Ibrox club in their pursuit of Motherwell’s Elijah Just…

The New Zealand international has enjoyed a standout campaign in the Scottish Premiership, emerging as one of the league’s most eye-catching performers.

His growing reputation has attracted attention, particularly after he found the net in Motherwell’s 3-1 defeat to Celtic at Celtic Park.

While Celtic have been closely monitoring his progress in recent weeks, fresh reports via Daily Record suggest the Ibrox club are also tracking the 25-year-old, setting up a potential transfer battle ahead of the summer window.

Operating primarily as a left-footed attacker, Just has thrived in a fluid forward role under Celtic-linked Jens Berthel Askou.

The Motherwell system – which relies on full-backs for width and disciplined midfield structure – has given creative players the freedom to roam – a setup that has benefited Just.

His performances have translated into consistent end product, with only leading scorer Tawanda Maswanhise registering more goal contributions for the Steelmen this season.

On the international stage, Just is already an established figure for New Zealand, earning 38 caps since breaking through as a teenager. Provided he remains fit, he is expected to feature for the All Whites at this summer’s World Cup.

Amid the growing speculation, Just’s agent, Gustaf Grauers, addressed the situation in comments to TCW on Tuesday: “I talk to Eli on a regular basis, in fact I spoke to him today.”

“He knows that in this world of football, you get recognised if you do well. However, he does not want to have that conversation with me; his entire focus is on Motherwell and the World Cup this summer.”

“He trusts that I take care of everything outside the pitch so he can focus on it. So right now we don’t talk about any other clubs than Motherwell and he is fully committed and focused on ending the season in the best possible way with his team mates.”
