Premier League starlet reveals qualities he picked up at Celtic

The former Celtic youth player, Ben Doak references qualities he picked up at Celtic which now help him succeed in the Premier League.

Since leaving Celtic to head to the Premier League, for a cost of roughly 600k, Doak has impressed in England. He also enjoyed a successful pre-season, coming up against the likes of Bayern Munich and SV Darmstadt. It seems that Doak impressed the ex-Celtic defender, Virgil Van Dijk during pre-season, as he dubbed the youngster ‘the Tasmanian Devil’.

Liverpool took on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their opening match of the season, which resulted in a 1-1 draw. Doak was introduced into the match by Jurgen Klopp in the later stages. Although this wasn’t his debut, as he has already made an appearance for the Liverpool first team, the 17-year-old did well to make an appearance in this massive game. Coming on against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge marks another milestone in Doak’s’ career, but he insists that it wasn’t daunting to face Chelsea at their home ground. Doak claims that the experience he picked up at Celtic has helped him to face the big moments of his career in the Premier League. As reported by Football Scotland, Doak said…

“Obviously I made a few appearances for Celtic before I came here as well so, I’m not used to it, I’ll never be used to it, but I am more used to the big crowds than most lads my age would be and also I’m going out to do what I’ve been doing my full life, so there’s not really any reason to be scared.”
