Premiership side to host Celtic XI in honour of homegrown hero

Dundee have confirmed that they will face a Celtic Select XI in honour of homegrown hero, Cammy Kerr. The right-back used to sit in ‘The Derry’ at Dens Park and his being honoured in his testimonial season against the Scottish Champions.

In an announcement on Monday, the game was confirmed to take place on Tuesday 16th of November. The game will be played at 7:45pm at Dens and the club have said that ticketing information will be released in due course.

It is unclear whether Kerr decided to select Celtic due to any particular affinity or whether he saw them as a decent away crowd. Kerr is an honest pro that always gives his all, he is a Dundee lad and he will be keen that his career continues beyond his testimonial.

Celtic first-team quartet Mikey Johnston, Marco Tilio, Kwon and Yuki Kobayashi were named in the Celtic XI that faced Ayr United for Michael Moffat’s Testimonial at the weekend and you would imagine that a couple fringe players would get the chance to run out, especially given that it is during the international break. Brendan Rodgers will likely not be in-charge and it will most probably be a Celtic B Team but there could be a number of players coming back from injury that could use the game for fitness.
