Promising Celtic goalkeeper wanted by clubs ahead of January window

Promising Celtic goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi is wanted by clubs ahead of the January transfer window. The England U20’s stopper has alerted clubs to his quality in the UEFA Youth League matches for the Hoops; however, with Joe Hart, Benjamin Siegrist and Scott Bain ahead of him, it is unlikely that first team football will be forthcoming anytime soon.

According to The Sun, Oluwayemi is wanted by clubs in Scotland and England in relation to a temporary switch. The 19-year-old is highly-rated by Ange Postecoglou, who sees him as a potential future No.1 at the club. It will be interesting to see whether he remains at the club in the coming weeks as he and the club will likely seek opportunities for the ex-Spurs kid to gain valuable experience.

Yesterday, Oluwayemi scored an own-goal for Celtic B team which turned out to be pivotal as they lost to Dunfermline in the SPFL Trust Trophy at East End Park.

Elsewhere, Ange has stated that 80% of the club’s business has been concluded with a view to the January window arriving after the World Cup. This may be impacted by the interest in some Celtic players in the window, no doubt.
