“Rangers have choked this season but nevertheless Ange has sent them packing,” Sutton hails Champions

Chris Sutton hailed the incredible job that Ange Postecoglou has done at Celtic as a 4-1 win this afternoon against Hearts at Celtic Park means that the Champagne is on ice for a massive title party at Tannadice on Wednesday night. And Dundee United might even do their bit to have those corks popping earlier because if they take anything from their game at Ibrox tomorrow Celtic will be confirmed as Scottish Champions for the tenth time in eleven seasons having turned around a huge 25 points deficit on last season and trialing by six points coming into 2022.

“It’s the form we have found since Ange has been around,” is the top of the league chant that has been the popular song of choice of the Celtic support since that freezing cold night up at Pittodrie and this afternoon we are nine points clear with a superior goal difference of 22. Catch 22? More like Mission Impossible for theRangers who have three games left and need to score a barrel load of goals and hope that Celtic lose to both Dundee United in midweek and Motherwell next Saturday.

But the Celtic celebrations from the players and management were restrained today and rightly so however everyone knows that it’s now all over bar the celebrations. Celtic completed our second 9IAR and football’s first ever quadruple treble during the lockdown so the Celtic fans missed out on the celebrations, with park benches in George Square never being under any threat from our support.

The party we are going to have next Saturday at Celtic Park’s latest Trophy Day is going to be legendary and hopefully the club will recognise Scott Brown’s achievement in leading the club to those two historic achievements by inviting him to deliver the trophy at Celtic Park on Saturday against Motherwell.

“Angeballs – Amazing job Ange Postecoglou has done at Celtic,” Chris Sutton tweeted. “Think about it…a 25 point deficit last season and a huge squad overhaul required. Yes (the)Rangers have choked this season but nevertheless Ange has sent them packing. Incredible achievement.”

Talking of theRangers, Ange Postecoglou provided a classy acknowledgement for them reaching the Europa League Final at yesterday’s Media Conference. It will be interesting to see if their manager shows similar class when asked about Celtic winning the league.

Here’s what Ange said about them reaching the Europa League Final in Seville:

“They have done awfully well and they have deserved it and they were the better team over the two legs in the semi-final.  They have been really strong in Europe all year.

“They are a very good football team and deserve to be in the final but they proved that last season when they went through the season undefeated which is no mean feat and this year with strong performances in pretty much all of the competitions.

“For us, I knew that was going to be our biggest challenge this season apart from our own form and how we performed and I knew if we were going to be successful we would have to overcome a pretty formidable opponent.”

Meanwhile theRangers supporting Kenny McIntyre on BBC Sportsound was put in his place by Ange after today’s win…
