Rangers v Celtic – team news, referee details, KO time and where to watch

Celtic travel to Ibrox on Sunday for the lunchtime kick-off against Rangers. The Scottish Champions are one point ahead of their Glasgow rivals going into the game and Brendan Rodgers will hope that he can extend that to four points by recording a win in Govan. The Irishman has only lost one game against Rangers and will be keen to regain his stranglehold of the fixture.

Team News

Celtic have had well documented injury difficulties in the last few weeks. Central defenders Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki and Stephen Welsh are injured and will not feature. Accordingly, the manager was forced to visit the loan market in order to bring Nat Phillips into the club from Liverpool. The Englishman will likely start alongside Gustaf Lagerbielke at the heart of the defence in front of goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Greg Taylor will start at left back with Alistair Johnston at right back.

Reo Hatate is still out injured by Paulo Bernardo is expected to be involved in the Matchday squad. Expect Callum McGregor to be joined alongside Matt O’Riley and maybe Odin Thiago Holm or Tomoki Iwata at the heart of the midfield. Celtic will need to be brave in the middle of the park as Rangers will seek to make life difficult for the Scottish Champions.

In attack, expect Kyogo, Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada to start.

Predicted XI: Hart; Johnston, Phillips, Lagerbielke, Taylor; McGregor, O’Riley, Holm; Abada, Kyogo, Maeda.
