Reaction to Team News: “Is Strachan picking players out of a bingo machine?”

CELTIC: Hazard, Duffy, Bitton, Soro, Turnbull, Rogic, Johnston, Frimpong, McGregor, Ralston, Laxalt.
Subs: Doohan, Taylor, Connell, Robertson, Oko-Flex, Henderson, Harper, Welsh, Dembele.

Nir Bitton returns to the starting eleven after serving a one-game suspension following his sending off at Ibrox, with Stephen Welsh drops to the bench. Anthony Ralston makes his first appearance of the season.

“Contract rebel” Cameron Harper, after making his debut against Hibernian, is on the bench today, as is midfielder, Scott Robertson, who has been recalled from his loan spell at Gillingham.

The last time the sides met back in September, goals from Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie and Albian Ajeti gave the Hoops a 3-2 win.

Here is some reaction to the team news…

“Considering the lunacy of going ahead with the Dubai trip todays line up is probably as good as it can be. But for me the back 4 should be Ralston, Duffy, Bitton and Taylor purely for the fact is we should thinking of not conceding goals!” John McCann tweeted.

Robert Paterson asked: “Why are people moaning about the team? Were you expecting anything different from Monday? As for Ralston…..he’s a better defender than Frimpong.”

“I’d take Lou Macari back as manager at this stage,” Danny McAlinden admitted while 32 stated “Right confidence booster for our young players, play well, get dropped.”

“Tony Ralston will outlast Neil Lennon and the board at Celtic. Mad.” Dec stated while James Downie added “Defence very poor Welsh the best player on Monday.”

“Good luck to our bhoys, disapointed Welsh not starting if I’m honest,” Celtic Gossip stated.
