Record’s Reo Hatate headline: “Look at that for a headline”…”How you got that headline anyone knows”

Celtic bound Reo Hatate today posted his farewell message to Kawasaki Frontale supporters ahead of his move to Glasgow. The 24 year old joins Celtic on a four-and-a-half year deal alongside Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi in the January transfer window and will join up with Kyogo Furuhashi who arrived at Celtic at the end of July.

Hatate leaves Kawasaki Frontale after retaining the title and will be looking to add another league title winners medal to his collection come May. Before that though he posted a message on his Instagram account praising the Kawasaki Frontale and looking ahead to his next challenge at Celtic.

Here’s what the Celtic bound midfielder had to say: “I really enjoyed my days at Kawasaki Frontale. It was a short time of two years, but I had a lot of experience.

“I’ve come this far with the support of my family, staff, and teammates. Thank you very much. Playing abroad is one of my dreams. I think I will have a hard time with football, personal life, language, food and so on.

“I want to absorb a lot of things as a person and as a player and grow. I am really grateful to the club for respecting this decision. Thank you very much. And supporters, I will do my best to have my chant sung by Todoroki someday.

“Thank you to everyone involved in Kawasaki Frontale. I will continue to do my best in my own way.”
